No escape
She couldn't stop running
Her sneakers hitting the ground, crushing. gravel
Diaphragm expanding, heart rate soaring
Her body screamed for her to stop
But she wouldn't, well she couldn't
For the demons of her past are swift and ever ready
To possess her once more and take away her peace
Doubling over, she knelt down as she wheezed
Looking around the empty road for signs of life other than dry leaves
But there was nothing
In the wilderness of her mind there was nothing
A long road empty and barren
Made just for her to run alone
Collapsing in a heap, she let out a groan
As the memories caught up to her, ending it all with one single fatal blow
