Observed: the other side of the magnifying glass

Everyone wants to be accepted by society
But that's some serious double standards,you see
Society is made up of people
People are mean and vicious
They hurt,they cut and destroy
One's self esteem and joy
Causing pain is what they truly enjoy
They smile at your face
Then turn away and begin to deface
Who you are and all you stand for
And most of all they have the power to break
Your self confidence and faith
In humanity and the good in this world or perhaps what's left
But yet we struggle for their approval
Time and time again we try to gain their deceitful remarks
No matter how much we are burned we still strive despite our scars
The need to fit in yet be unique weighing heavily on our hearts
Yet no matter how you try you're still a subject of their cruel pranks
There are no real reasons for this wickedness
Just hatred and a little jealousy goes a long way
In addition to your mistakes and shortcomings
Is enough to have them thirsty to tear you to pieces
Fragments of your former self, lonely and alone but mostly broken
