Pretty eyes

Stirring my now cold cup of coffee
I couldn't stop Staring at his understated beauty
Walking around, a lowly bus boy with dirty plates and dishes
Wiping his hands he grabs his note pad to take orders and offer greetings
Eyebrows puckered in concentration as he scribbled down hastily
Pushing my cup away I signaled for yet another cup of bittersweet longing
Jogging towards me he stopped, poised ready to jot down swiftly
Looking up I found myself Staring into a vast sea of green
I had never before come close enough to see
The sadness that nestled itself deep within
He cleared his throat startling me out of my reverie
Smiling tightly, I tried to find my voice, whispering softly I said I'll have another coffee
He looked at my full cup and raised a brow chuckling nervously I told him to hurry, I needed it now
Turning away he disappeared from sight
Into the back room to emerge again with creamy delights
Heading over to where I sat I watched him from outside
As he dropped my forgotten coffee and picked up my note
He read it turned it over and read it again
Stuffing it into his apron, he remembered he had work to do
Walking to the park, Earpiece on loud music blaring
Eyes closed, thinking about moss green eyes so riveting
Feeling someone sit by me I opened my eyes and turned
Looking straight into those green eyes that occupied my thoughts
Blushing furiously I looked down
He smiled, taking my hands he whispered
I'm about to tell you the tale of why these eyes lost their light
