A single tear
A single tear
Alone in its journey
As it runs down her face
An expression of pain
Proof of all the shame
Falling from one eye
Without warning or a clear sign
Like the river of hurt
Let out a single drop
To ease her broken soul
To give her hurting heart,
A chance for slight relief
What happens when it doesn't flow
Doesn't cascade down her cheek ever so slow
When her pain is buried deep, refusing to be shown
When the single tear is expected but doesn't come
Listening to all the slow songs
Nodding as the lyrics flows of her tongue
Yet her eyes remain dry and her heart torn
She wants to let it all out n feel reprieve
From the memories of all he ever did
But she's stuck
With the pain in her chest
And images of him burned in her head
She wants to cry and break down
But the pain he caused is hard to let out
Now she's acting like nothings wrong
Burying it deep where it can't hurt.
