Rain

Slowly silently falling
Darkened clouds over the horizon
Increasing tempo, hitting against my barricades
Such vicious passion masked in elegance and Grace
Threatening to destroy the window panes
Protecting my glassy heart from pain
Thunder rumbles and the earth shakes
Hiding beneath the rubble from fear and disgrace
Calmly it returns to it's former pace
The winds of your anger leaves me blown away
Lightning lights up the sky
As the storm passes in your eyes
The trees shudder and the leaves cry
I release the breath I'd been holding inside
The clouds part and the sun shines
You turn and give me a small smile
Looking around EUROS tamed
I exhale PETRICHOR  "The smell of earth after rain"
