Those same eyes that had me believing
In happily ever after and forever
That despite my struggling career
We could still make it and be together

But you hurt me deeply when u left
Turned your back on everything and went
Straight into the arms of another
Who could provide everything without a bother
Leaving behind all the promises made my lover

Bereft and broken without your love
Sad and lonely while you were gone
But after the hurt came righteous anger
Which gave me the drive I needed to prosper
Put in my best in order to be better
For the pain you caused made me braver

Shoulders slumped she walked away dejected
Watching her leave again feeling tormented
Running towards her I tipped her chin
To look into the eyes that haunted me
And plagued me with the thought of where I ought to be

Enveloping her into my arms, relieved she sighs
Looking over her shoulders, recalling all her lies
And then I knew that even though I've forgiven
I'll walk alone with this heavy burden
Knowing that one day soon, again she'll be leaving.
